Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to the below):

• Designing and overseeing the implementation of ISS, data center or cabling infrastructure architecture to ensure it aligns with the business strategy and meets the needs of the client.

Role Description

We are looking for a Data Center Solutions Architect to join our Johannesburg team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing data center infrastructure solutions for our clients. This role involves collaborating with internal teams and clients to deliver high-performance, scalable, and secure solutions that meet industry best practices and compliance standards. From concept to completion, you will oversee the technical aspects of data center projects, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and client satisfaction.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Utilising the functionality of existing protocols and infrastructure, design and deployment of new solutions.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure that the solution is fit for purpose.
• Ensuring that final documentation on designed solutions and the necessary knowledge base documentation for after sales services are created, maintained and stored.
• Designing key documentation including all line diagrams that will be required by the project team for deployment.
• Compiling checklists and scripts as part of the quality assurance milestone from a project signoff perspective.
• Maintaining knowledge around trends and technologies.
• Ensuring compliance and best practices.

Requirements:

Qualifications Experience:

• BSC Electrical or Mechanical with min 3-5 years’ experience (Preferably PR Eng. And some form of either TIA or Uptime certifications)
• PR Tech Electrical or Mechanical 5-8years experience (Preferably N6 Min. with TIA or Uptime Certs but isn’t essential – generally known as technicians…)
• Ndip Electrical or Mechanical with a trade test and ancillary certs,
  • Medium Voltage and Switching Certification,
  • Qualified Trade Test Certification
  • Electrical (Preferred is for Wireman but huge is for a master’s cert)
    • Qualified tradesman that have run their own practice certainly are rare but great entry…
• Any OEM Skills (Schneider, Eaton, Vertiv)
• Basic understanding of the following trades is great upside:
  • Structured Cabling (Copper and Fiber Systems)
    • ICT Systems, (Networking, Storage, Cloud)
  • CCTV and Access Control
  • Building Management Systems
